Ekuphumleni High School was excited to once again welcome visitors from the Umckaloabo Foundation to the school in March. Six of the visitors were from Germany, whilst one was from Austria – for all of them it was the first time to visit Whittlesea, whilst for almost all of them it was the first time to South Africa.
The visitors spent a full day at the school, during which a small opening ceremony was held for the new classroom blocks and a celebratory braai prepared for the evening. Students performed dances, both traditional and modern, and Ekuphumleni’s school choir performed several moving songs. Visitors, teachers, and students alike enjoyed the event and the interactions and the insights the visit brought.

We say thank you to the visitors for travelling so far to come see us and for the shared time and experience.
